If you were paying attention to the list of fillers we offer, you might have wondered why we didn’t mention Botox. That’s because, while it is an injectable anti-aging product, it is not a dermal filler. Botox Cosmetic and similar products such as Xeomin® and Dysport® work differently from fillers. Instead of adding volume and erasing wrinkles, they are FDA-approved to temporarily block the nerve signals that tell your muscles to contract. Another way in which they differ from fillers is that they work best in the upper third of the face, around the eyes and eyebrow area. Neuromodulators like Botox are best for helping diminish the wrinkles that form from repetitive expressions like squinting, frowning, and smiling.
